Have you ever noticed...???

Have you ever noticed that once you get married, all your friends suddenly stopped contacting you when they used to? Have you ever wonder why?

Have you noticed that once your friends get married, the person they become closest to is their spouse & all of a sudden, you are left out from all the details in your friends' lives??? When once upon a time, you knew all the intimate details over a cup of drinks & shared so much laughter together?

Have you ever noticed that once your friends get married, they will do all they can to protect their marriage, so they do not let you know of any unhappiness in their lives; they fight hard to put up a good show in front of you- that is, if they ever contact you in the first place.

Annoying neighbour upstairs!

Aargh! I have been outting up with it for 5 years. This time I could not take it & I stuck a notice on the elevator wall requesting that a certain neighbour living on XX unit to refrain from hanging her laundry out to dry early in the morning when it is still dark (because my dear, her bamboo poles make a lot of disruptive noise & is disrupting my precious sleep!!!). In Singapore, we hang our clothes on bamboo poles & hang them out to dry. Of course we normally do it at an earthly hour, not when it is still dark at 5am! What an inconsiderate neighbour! I guess she must have knew we were referring to her coz the notice was taken down the very next day. I sure wished it had been left there a little longer. Anyway, she has shown great improvement in her behaviour because when she takes her laundry out early in the morning, it is not that noisy anymore. Hip hip hurray! No more irritating noise disturbance!

My relief teaching...

It annoys me no end when a teacher changes her mind a few minutes after asking me to come down to work. And another few minutes later, changes her mind & asks me to come to work! This is what I mean:

LL: Hi, tomorrow can you come down to work from 9 to 1pm? We need a relief teacher.
Me: Ok, I can make it.
LL: Thanks so much, Nana! See you tomorrow.

(A few minutes later...)

LL: Hey hi Nana! I am so sorry but I don't need you tomorrow.
Me: Oh, it is all right then.
LL: So sorry about it. I will call you next time.
Me: Sure, no problem.

(A few minutes later...)

LL: Hey Nana! I am really sorry but I still need you to work tomorrow from 9 to 1pm.
Me: Oh? Is this a confirmed assignment?
LL: Yes it is. Please come tomorrow. I am so sorry.
Me: Ok. I will go tomorrow.

It's like, what the #$%^&! Can't you make up your mind about needing me or not? If you don't need me, don't call me. If you need me, then stick to it & don't change ever so frequently! This has happened on more than a few occasions. It is so annoying coz I cannot plan my day ahead! Don't u think so???

My father-in-law keeps $ that does not belong to him!

I was at his house last Sat for a visit when mother-in-law told me that a cashier at SS supermarket had accidentally given my father-in-law more $ than she should have. So I asked her if he returned the $ to the cashier. "Of course not!" came the reply. "Huh? Why?" I asked. "Why should he when he can get to keep the $???" Oh my gosh. I was disgusted. It was not a matter of a few cents but $20-$30! Now the cashier would have to pay out of her own pocket. When I told my mother-in-law that she may get retribution, she said "No, no. Keeping $ given to us is not a crime. After all, it is not as if I robbed someone". I was dumbfounded. Why did my father-in-law have to do this? It is not as if no one gives him any $! My hubby, his twin brother & his 2 sisters give him $ on a regular basis. Only his eldest son & 2nd daughter do not give a single cent. (Well, that's another story.) It seems that one can't get elderly people to change their mindset. It is well, like cast in stone.

Stupid interviewers!!!

Can you believe this? I went for an interview for the position of Marketing Executive. Do you know what irrelevant questions the interviewers asked me? And do you know how they reveled in it??? Let me show you how ridiculously the interview went:-

Interviewer 1: So do you exercise?
Me: Yes I do
Interviewer 1 (with a look of incredulity): Oh, really?
Me: Yes
Interviewer 1: So what kind of exercise do you do?
Me: I jog
Interviewer 1: What?
Me: I jog
Interviewer 1: Oh. You jog... How often do you jog?
Me: Once or twice a week depending on the weather.
Interviewer 1 (inching closer now): How many kilometres do you jog?
Me: I don't know. I just jog 3 rounds around my estate & there are no distance markers.
Interviewer 1: The job requires you to go to another faculty near here. Do you have any mobility issues?
Me: No I don't.

Hey hey! I am not applying for a position to sell sports equipment. I am just applying for a desk-bound job. Why did he ask me so many stupid questions?!?!?! I am not even fat in the first place! In fact, I am underweight. And I am physically fit. What's with that "Do you have any mobility issues" question? Is he implying that I am old for the job? I am only 28. Duh!!! Stupid interviewer!!!

What's wrong with that Raymond???

Why the hell does he always ask me to do his subordinate's work when she always take vacation leave, sick leave, urgent leave when I am not even from his department??? WTF. Does he think I am his staff? I am so angry with him! It is not just once or twice or thrice, but too many, many times!!! Why doesn't he go & ask her why is she always taking leave instead of asking me to do her work? I am NOT your maid. Period. Oh my gosh, this really makes me mad. There was once I tried to stand up for myself but he got angry instead! His face turned red, as if it was my fault! Hey! So what if she is pretty! You got to be fair man! You can't just agree to her leave requests without finding the reason for it & then making other people like me the victim! And when I am on leave, there is NO one to do my work because my work is in Japanese. She need not worry about my work being passed on to her. How fair is this!

Save that indirect criticism!

Grr!!! I need to vent! My ex-colleague Eva wanted to become an airline stewardess with JAL, so she asked me for help in Japanese as she will be tested in Japanese during the interview. After helping her with it, we chatted about career & I told her a lot of my friends encouraged me to be an airline stewardess with JAL as I could speak fluent Japanese. There is no doubt I will get the job, they added. Eva, instead of being grateful to me for assisting her with Japanese, went on to make indirect criticism of me such as by saying potential employers will scrutinize your face & it is not just a cursory glance, she added, inching closer to me, her eyes widening. Ok, so I get it that she was saying my complexion is terrible & won't make the cut. And she was not over. She asked me, "Oh, how old were you when your friends asked you to be an airline stewardess???" Implying of course that I looked older than my actual age. This annoyed me further & I had to grit my teeth before I coud answer her question. I was 23 then. Is that considered old? Duh! Ungrateful brat! I hope I dun ever see her again!
